“Fly me to the moon,
Let me play among the stars.
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars…”
Frank Sinatra’s 1964 swing-jazz reedition of “Fly me to the Moon”, arranged by Quincy Jones, became the iconic soundtrack of NASA’s Apollo program. Played during Apollo 10’s lunar orbit and broadcast during Apollo 11’s historic landing, it captured the spirit of adventure as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin took humanity’s first steps on the Moon in 1969.
Now, sixty years later, as America sets its sights on Mars, the time has come for a new anthem to inspire this next giant leap. America is driven by the pursuit of big dreams, and this moment is no different. Donald J. Trump, with his promise to “Make America Great Again,” and Elon Musk, committed to sending humans to Mars, both share a bold vision of the future.
Financial markets have responded in line with expectations. A “red sweep” has strengthened the dollar, driven up interest rates, and supported robust equity performance. Bond yields have risen only moderately, defying predictions of sharper increases and suggesting confidence if fiscal risks remain managed.
